Janet K. Townsend

Janet K Townsend (nee Kayser), age 74, of O Fallon, Missouri passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022 in Saint Louis, Missouri. She was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on May 8, 1947 to Victor and Mary Kayser (nee Pritchard).

Janet graduated from Davis County Community High School. She then went on to St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Ottumwa, Iowa, where she became a registered nurse. Janet was employed by Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, IA, for 33 years.

Janet is survived by her Nieces, Chyri (Gary) Venetis, Debbie (Mark) Jones, Deborah (William) McAfoos, and Lauri (Jeffrey) Venetis; Nephew, Brian Kayser; and many Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews. She was truly loved and will be missed by a host of other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Victor Kayser; Mother, Mary Kayser; Husband, Jeremiah Townsend; Sister, Donna Rae Foster; Brother-In-Law, William E. Foster; and Brother, James Kayser.

Janet will be remembered as a kind and caring person. She loved nothing more than spending time with her loving husband, Jerry, whether it was attending an Iowa Hawkeye Football game, cheering on team USA at the Winter Olympics, cruising the Caribbean, or visiting family and friends across the country. No matter the destination or length of their trip, as long as they were together, they were happy.

Visitation will be from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Funeral Ceremony will be at 5:00 pm Sunday, May 8, 2022 also at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 9:15 am.
