Janice A. Duffner (nee Blow) passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021. She was 72 years old. Beloved wife of 50 years of the late Carl Duffner; cherished daughter of the late Arthur and Genevieve Blow (nee Ferguson); loving mother of Carl (Rachael) Duffner, Kris (Dan) Coots, and Eric (Heather) Duffner; treasured grandmother of Justin Coots, Gabrielle Duffner, Holly Duffner, Blake Coots, Jake Duffner, and Joshua Duffner; dear sister of Duane (Paula) Blow, dear sister-in-law of Paul (Sharon) Duffner, aunt and many other family members and friends.
Jan graduated from St. Charles High School in St. Charles, MO. While attending Lindenwood College, she met Carl Duffner at a dance mixer and found her soulmate. They were married on December 21, 1968 and celebrated fifty years. Then were blessed with three children, Greg, Kris and Eric. They enjoyed walking their beloved dogs Toby, Maggie, Touché, Biscuit, Sassy and Cookie over their years.
Her passion was being a loving daughter, sister, mom and then grandma. She was a wonderful cook and nightly family dinner was important. She transported us to school, sporting events, room mother and anything her children or grandchildren were involved in. She was our biggest fan and critique us when we needed it. She enjoyed the arts and especially the theater. Her greatest joy was attending her grandchildren's sporting and school events, band recitals, and theater performances. Finally, Jan was an avid gardener with Cookie by her side.
She battled a very aggressive form of cancer with the loving support of her family. She participated in research studies to hopefully help someone else. We are so grateful the prayers, cards and support for her. Especially, led by Dr. Patrik Pipkorn his nurse and the teams of doctors and nurses at Barnes Jewish Hospital and Washington University Otolaryngology. Jan was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her beloved dog, Cookie.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Five Acres Animal Shelter in St. Charles, MO or a local animal or women's shelter of your choice in Jan's name.
