Jason L. Riley, age 45, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. He was born in Saint Charles, Missouri on April 24, 1974 to Jack and Charlotte Riley (nee Ochs).
Jason was a kind soul. He was raised in Cape Girardeau, MO where he made lifetime friends including band members and found inspiration for many of his songs. He was modest with his talents and so very passionate about songwriting and music. His knowledge of music history was extensive. He was the lead singer and a songwriter for The Dirty 30's. When his feet hit the stage he lit up. He belted songs with all he had to give. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University. Over the years he worked to pay the bills but his passion was the stage. He moved to St Louis, MO where he found many friends in the music scene. He was often found at Off Broadway on the stage or working to pay his tab. He had a unique gift of touching many lives with music whether it was writing, debating, collaborating, singing, playing or having a drink while listening.
Jason is survived by his parents, Jack L. (Charlotte) Riley, Jr.; his sister, Christina L. (Joshua) Mertz; his nephew and nieces, Branden Mertz, Olivia Vantassel, and Aubrey Vantassel. He will be greatly missed by many other family members and friends.
