Jeff J. Smith

Jeff J. Smith, age 58, of Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 in Chesterfield, Missouri. He was born in Ames, Iowa on March 26, 1964 to John and Delores Smith (nee Miller).

Jeff is survived by his wife, April Smith; parents, John and Delores Smith; son, Chris Smith; step-daughters, Paige Fillion, Destyny Fillion, Summer Gerhard, and Mariah Alessio; grandson, Brandon Smith; granddaughter, Makenzy Robinson; step-granddaughters, Sydney Sensaughbau, Addy Duff, Skyla Gerhard, and Nova Canterberry; and step-grandsons, Levi Duff and Logan Gerhard. Also survived by loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of other family members and friends.

Facing challenges started early for Jeff, he attended schools in five different states. He had a variety of early jobs, including cooking and working for a horse farm. One of his favorite activities as a child was the time he spent with his grandparents on their Iowa cattle farm. The old barn is still there and Jeff had dreams of a big wood working shop in the hayloft. Working was his therapy and he started his own wood flooring business five years ago. He believed in giving people second chances like he had been given. He enjoyed having fun, he tried canoeing, going to the river with his dogs, putting together Legos with grandchildren, gardening and picking berries with his grandchildren.
