There are so many notable things I could tell you about Jeff (my Dad), so I'll stick with the most important. Jeff was first and foremost a nurturer whether through friendship or family he was someone that was always at the ready when some one was in need. Asthma attack in the middle of the night that puts you in the hospital for a week? Need a hand moving? Need a ride at 2am? Need an ear to bend when the weight of the world is heavy? He was there. He was adventurous, never one to go with the grain; from benjo ditches in Taiwan to motocross and even extending to his relationships, humor, morals, and beliefs. I don't think this was on purpose or by any effort at all but it shaped the lives of those around him. He was a firm but loving father, who taught so many life lessons to his two boys. He taught us the value in perseverance and inspired us to always do more and be more than he could imagine. Our dad taught us about respect and unconditional love and giving, allowing us to be compassionate but always respecting others and ourselves. How did he teach us these things? He was the first one there when you needed him, even if it meant he wasn't being there for himself. After multiple surgeries, replaced limbs, and severe lifelong pain… he STILL kept doing his best every day to bring humor and light into peoples lives. No matter how much life would knock someone down, Jeff would remind you that you could do it and it was worth standing back up. Even in his last moments he had one last lesson to give. Take care of others but care for yourself too, be courageous even when the odds are against you, and don't take things so seriously, life is short so live it and love it hard. He loved animals (especially wolves and birds), he loved his hats, he loved working on cars, and most of all he loved his family. He was a good son, father, and grandfather… and he will forever be remembered and greatly missed.
