Jennifer Lynn Crum

October 27, 1986 — March 24, 2022

Jennifer (Jen) Lynn Crum (nee Poettker), surrounded by her family, was called home to the communion of saints on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at the age of 35.

Jennifer was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Mary (nee Thouvenot) and Robert Poettker. Jennifer married Nicholas D. Crum on October 29, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, St. Charles, Missouri.

Jennifer is survived by her Husband: Nicholas D. Crum; Parents: Mary (nee Thouvenot) and Robert Poettker; Sister: Christina (Thomas) Dubis; Brothers: Scott (Shana) Poettker; Jason (Cindy Finnegan); Grandmother-in-law: Gloria Jean Saputo; Mother-in-law: Lisa Maggi; Sister-in-law, Amber Myers; Nieces and Nephews: Justin (Ashley Weiss) Tainter; Alexis and Tristan Tainter; Kavyn, Leianna, Jaina, and Corran Poettker; Alexis (Ryan Davis) Dubis; Canyon, Jersey, and Easton Dubis; Dominik, Zakary, and Dylan Myers; Jayce Davis; Great Nieces and Nephews: Malorie, Wesley, Jhonny, and Maylee Cureton; Rylee Davis; Cole Barks; Bella Weiss; JT Tainter; and Numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends.
She was preceded in death by her Grandparents: Delmar and Catherine Thouvenot; Joseph and Alvira Poettker; Niece: Brittany Dubis; and Godmother and Uncle: Janet and Gerard Buss.

Jennifer had a beautiful soul whose kindness, selflessness, strength, courage, and humility were evident to everyone she met. She was the most generous person always asking what she could do for others. The most evident example was Jennifer's desire to give back to Cancer Care. She with the help of family and friends assembled care packages at Christmas time to distribute to her fellow cancer patients. It was her mission to give joy to others. That joy included baking with her husband Nick and sharing their scrumptious treats with others.

Her compassion and love extended to countless others during Jen's lifetime giving service to those in need. Jen loved children and the Lord devoting her time to teaching infants and toddlers Bible stories at Bible Study Fellowship, as well as religious education to students in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish School of Religion. She amazed everyone with her concern and care for others first and foremost amid her suffering and battle with metastatic breast cancer.

During her illness, Jennifer's strength, courage, and faith were an inspiration to family, friends, medical caregivers, and total strangers. She never complained or felt sorry for herself. When asked how she was doing or feeling, Jennifer would always smile and answer, "I'm fine, how are you?" It didn't matter if she was home resting or in the hospital following major surgery Jennifer found the time to call to check on family and friends. She put others' cares, troubles, and concerns before her own. No one could imagine how much Jen was suffering when she smiled at them with a smile that could light up a room and brighten everyone's day. Her heart of gold shone through in her smile and in everything she did.
