Jerome Rellergert

February 14, 1943 — March 15, 2022

Jerome "Jerry" Rellergert, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri. He was born in Uniontown, Missouri on February 14, 1943 to Alphonse and Flora Rellergert (nee Unterreiner).

Jerry, the 5th of 7, gained his middle name Valentine - which he hated - being born on Valentine's day 1943. Everyday since then has been, "the world according to Jerry". A strong and stubborn German, Jerry was not afraid to speak his mind and it was against his nature to back down. Under this tough exterior, was a person - like the rest of us - who roamed the earth looking for a good drink, a good meal and unconditional love.

As a young man, Jerry loved swimming in Apple Creek, playing baseball and dancing. As an Army man, Jerry enjoyed his assignment working on the missile crew in St Louis and really enjoyed the seafood when stationed on the Virginia coast. Jerry enjoyed teaching his 3 kids to fish, play ball and how to do things. This avid Blues fan's dreams came true in 2019 when they won the Stanley Cup! He passed his love of the Blues on to his son and daughter. They love to cheer for the Blues together (by yelling at the TV) with great passion. His later hobbies included bass fishing, golf, driving his tractor and hanging with his dog, Buddy.

After 30+ years of working for St Louis County Water, Jerry retired and moved back to the country where he felt at "home" for a long time. A family man, his favorite times were family gatherings with pig roasts and 4 wheelers. He always enjoyed a good party and socializing. Jerome was a ladies' man 'til the end.

Jerry is survived by his children, Julie (Ed) Herzing, Karen Still and Daniel (Ashley) Rellergert; his grandchildren, Owen Herzing and Griffin Herzing; his siblings, Wayne Rellergert and Doug (Janis) Rellergert; and brother-in-law, Don Bogenpohl. He will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Flora Rellergert; his siblings, Gerald (Carol) Rellergert, Norbert (Lenore) Rellergert, Marilyn Schicker and Betty Bogenpohl; and his sister-in-law, Vicki Rellergert.
