Gerald Joseph Oberfranc, age 84, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022, in Saint Peters, Missouri. He was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on May 18, 1938, to Joseph and Dorothy Oberfranc (nee Dufour).
Jerry was a wonderful father and husband. He enjoyed watching ships go through the canals sitting on the dock, camping, fishing (while drinking a Cherry Vess), water skiing, creating train tables, playing T-ball with the neighborhood children, building car models with his son, Chris, putting together his Coast Guard Legos, going to all Ford car shows, watching the 3 Stooges, sailing, and doing donuts in a VW Beetle when it snowed. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Marion Oberfranc; his children Antoinette "Toni" Barragan, Patrick (Heidi) Oberfranc, Michelle Armor, Mary (Tony) Frazier, Christopher (Elizabeth) Oberfranc; his grandchildren, Jordon, Jason, Derrick, Ryan, Justin, Sean, Kelly, Lindsey, James, William, Madelynn, Charlotte, and Rosalee; 10 great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Gail Oberfranc; his sister, Sandy (Dave) Kern; 6 nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Gerald Oberfranc; his mother, Dorothy Ann Oberfranc; his daughter, Jennifer Kershaner; his son-in-law, Danny Armor; and his siblings, Joanne (Donald) Duke, Dennis Oberfranc, James "Jim" Oberfranc.
Visitation will take place from 9:30 am until 11:30 am with a service to immediately follow at 11:30 am, both on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Saint Peters Chapel, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Burial will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery immediately following the service.
