Joe Hackett

February 15, 1947 — February 29, 2024

Joe Hackett, age 77, of Chesterfield, Missouri passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024. He was born in Gallatin, Tennessee on February 15, 1947 to Lloyd and Ruby Hackett (nee Gammons).

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Hackett (nee Case); loving children, Marti (Shannon) Chronister and Brian Hackett; treasured grandchildren, Rachel Ward, Ethan Ward, Kayde Chronister, Allison Hackett, and Austin Hackett; dear sister, Ann Bernhart; cherished nephews, Patrick Bernhart and Joey Bernhart; and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Kirk Hackett; and mother, Ruby May Hackett.

Joe proudly served his country with honor in the United States Army. He then came to St. Louis to open a pavement, maintenance, and supply business, McConnell and Associates, STL. Through hard work and dedication, Joe's company became one of the top asphalt coating and tennis court construction companies in the St. Louis area. In his free time, Joe enjoyed running, and driving his antique 1979 Triumph Spitfire. He also loved to travel, and made yearly trips to Aruba with his wife for beach time, swimming, and relaxation. Nothing gave Joe as much joy however, as time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed family get-togethers, barbeques, and had a special place in his heart for animals, especially dogs. Joe was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorial contributions may be made in Joe's honor to the Alzheimer's Association or Lucky Chance Rescue.
