John Buckner

John Buckner, age 63, of Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023. He was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on February 25, 1960 to Harold and Elizabeth Buckner (nee Salamon).

John loved spending his time with his family and friends. He was very dedicated to anything he was involved in. John was a very generous person and donated much of his time to organizations close to his heart. He served as the Detachment Commander of the Missouri Sons of the American Legion and Commander of the Legion Riders. Everyone that knew him will remember his quick wit and sense of humor. He brought much joy to all those around him and kept us laughing until the end.

John is survived by his wife, Sheri Kneznekoff; his daughters, Rachelle (Aaron) Taykowski, and Megan (Jason) Karkoski; his granddaughters, Taylor Taykowski, Haylee Taykowski, Charlotte Karkoski, and Alivia Karkoski; his sister, Beverly Helmsing; and his brother, Carl (Kathy Pinnell) Buckner; He will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Buckner; his mother, Elizabeth Buckner; and his brother, Mark Buckner.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm followed by a Sons of the American Legion Honor Service at 4: 30 pm and a funeral ceremony at 5:00 pm all on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at West County Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 2211 Clarkson Rd, Chesterfield, Missouri 63017. A reception/celebration of life will follow at the Creve Couer American Legion Post 397, 934 E Rue De La Banque, Creve Coeur, Mo 63141.
