John Richard Cobb, age 74, of Florissant, Missouri passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021.
He was born in Hinton, West Virginia on January 2, 1947 to Edwin and Wladyslawa Cobb (nee Patrzalek).
John was the Director of Financial Aide and he helped thousands of students make their way into college that would not have typically been able to afford to go to college with scholarships and grants, he had such a sincere interest in helping people. He acquired two masters degree's in History and Political Science at Radford University in Virginia, he also had a Bachelors degree from Concord College in West Virginia.
John was a member of VFW of Florissant, MO , He is a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran and was deployed to the Dominican Republic to help regain control from Cuba.
John also enjoyed baseball and football, history, political science, loved to spend time with his family especially his nieces and nephews, fishing and camping, loved watching his niece Crystal play basketball and proud of Kaylee getting her nursing degree and starting her own business, Emilia getting her Ph.D. degree and working at the Cleveland Clinic, he loved his great-niece Kinsley and she brought a smile to his face every time he saw her, he was a family man and loved his cats, he loved his home state of West Virginia and all the outdoor activities the state has to offer, John was the kindest of person that would help anyone out and he will be deeply missed, He adored his sisters Sally, Marlene, and Teresa deeply, and his very best friend was his brother Frank and his wife Debbie
John is survived by his Brother, Frank (Debbie) Cobb, Sister, Sally (Randy) Lavender, Sister, Marlene (Tony) Calvaresi, Sister, Teresa (Jeff) Connor, Niece, Emilia Calvaresi, M.D. Ph.D., Niece, Crystal Cobb, Niece, Kaylee Cobb BSN, Great-Neice, Kinsley Cobb, Niece, Lakin Conner, Nephew, Jeffrey Conner, Nephew, Christopher Conner, Loretta Blevins, Gary Badour, Cheryl Badour, Robert Hawkes, Pam Meadows and he will be dearly missed by a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Edwin Cobb; and Mother, Wladyslawa Cobb.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations and Funerals in St. Peters.
Funeral Ceremony will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, November 15, 2021.
Interment with military honors to be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 2 pm.
