John "Jack" Zdvorak
June 6, 1926 — February 14, 2022
John "Jack" Zdvorak, Sr., age 95, of St. Charles, Missouri passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022 in O'Fallon, Missouri. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 6, 1926 to Leroy and Ethyl Zdvorak (Lea Smith). He married to Lorraine Zdvorak on December 10, 1948 and they spent many happy years together.
Jack had a wonderful 40 year career with Trans World Airlines & worked as a Ramp Service Rep, Customer Service Agent, PRR – Passenger Service Rep, & later as a Manager for TWA's 'Marketair' Air Cargo Services in St Louis, Missouri.
Jack was a WWII Veteran who attended the prestigious Coast Guard Merchants Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY prior to his service during the war for the Navy. He was a Grand Mason with Masonic order. He served in Stephen Ministry and was very active at both Salem United Church of Christ in Florissant, Missouri and Bonhomme Presbyterian Church in Chesterfield, Missouri. His passions in life were his faith, his family, and sports.
John is survived by his son, John "Jack" (Karen) Zdvorak, Jr.; daughter, Linda (Steve) Lundergan; granddaughter, Lauren (Darrell) Alexander; granddaughter, Lisa (Chris) Cardetti; grandson, Matthew (Karli) Lundergan; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Zdvorak; mother, Ethyl (Cecil) Hammock; father, Leroy (Marie) Zdvorak; and grandmother Lea "Nana" Smith.
Visitation will be on Monday February 28, 2022 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at Bonhomme Presbyterian Church in the Community Room, 14820 Conway Road in Chesterfield, Missouri (63017) and be followed by the service in the church's chapel at 10:00 am with Lynn Packwood officiating. Interment will be private at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
