John David Johnson, age 71, of Chesterfield, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer. John was born on October 2, 1952 in Alliance, Ohio to Harold and Kathryn (Wilson) Johnson.
John grew up in Sebring, Ohio. He graduated fom Sebring High School in 1971 and attended The Ohio State University. John worked for American Steel Foundries/ Amsted Rail for 33 years before retiring in 2008.
He is survived by his son Todd Johnson (Megan Charlton and her children Rickey, Bella, and Elizabeth) of Manito, Illinois; daughter Sara (Mark) Fingerhut of St. Louis, Missouri; and ex-wife Debbie (Claxton) Johnson of Edwardsville, Illinois. John also leaves behind his beloved cat, Kojak.
John was an avid golfer and sports fan, especially the Buckeyes; Cleveland Browns, Guardians, and Cavs; the St. Louis Cardinals and Blues. He also enjoyed many genres of music and had a vast collection of movies.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers George Campbell, James 'Randy' Campbell, and Terry Johnson.
Arrangements are pending and he will be buried at a later date in Grandview Cemetery in Sebring.
