Joseph Richard Lowe, age 88, of Florissant, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 in Florissant, Missouri. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 13, 1935 to Joseph and Dolly Lowe (nee Vossel).
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Alice Joyce Lowe (nee Burroughs); loving children, Kimberlyn (Mitchell) Day and James (the late Mary Beth) Lowe; treasured grandchildren, Jaimi (Adam) Gruler, Thomas (Lesley) Randoll, Joseph (Jen) Randoll, Nicholas (Katie) Lowe, and Christopher (Samantha) Lowe; cherished great-grandchildren, Michael Barlowe, Cameron Barlowe, Braden Barlowe, Jonathan Gruler, Stephanie Gruler, Rachel Gruler, Ryan Randoll, Grant Randoll, Nolan Randoll, Lillian Randoll, Olivia Randoll, Alayna Lowe, Grace Lowe, Cassidy Lowe, and Holden Lowe; and a host of other family members and friends.
Joseph is preceded in death by his son, Richard Lowe; and parents, Joseph and Dolly Lowe; and sisters, Geraldine Lowe and Joyce (husband Dan survives) Haas.
Joseph Lowe was a remarkable man whose life was defined by love, creativity, and joy. As a devoted husband to Alice for 67 cherished years, he was the embodiment of partnership and devotion. A proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Joseph’s family was his greatest treasure; he filled their lives with warmth and laughter. An accomplished woodworker, he crafted exquisite furniture and toys, showcasing his incredible skill and imagination—there was nothing he couldn't create with his hands. Joseph found happiness and his passion in fishing. He shared his love for fishing with his family by teaching them all how to fish. He also enjoyed bowling and poker nights. His love for dancing and playing music brought people together, turning gatherings into joyful celebrations. Joseph's legacy of love and creativity will forever remain in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joseph's honor may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
