Joseph R. Miles

Joseph R. Miles, age 95, of Saint Charles, Missouri passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024 in Union, Missouri. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on August 13, 1928 to LeRoy and Madeline Miles (nee Boholt). 

Joseph was a proud World War II veteran, he joined the Navy in 1945 and was honorably discharged in 1949. He served on the Bremmerton, Iowa, and Atlanta. During his time serving he received the World War II Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal, China Service Medal, Navy Occupation Medal, and Philippine Independence Ribbon. 

Joseph is survived by his Daughter, Kathleen Ann (Marty) Peterson; Daughter-In-Law, Marienne Miles; Seven grandchildren, Tammy Peterson, Sarah (Brandon) Bell, Josh Peterson, Joey (Denise) Miles, Robby (Angie) Crowe, Jimmy (Jen) Crowe, Rose Crowe; Six great-grandchildren, Jordan Townley, Kenzie Bell, Austin Peterson, Alivia Peterson, Evan Bell-Vaughn, River Miles; Three Fur Grandchildren, Iggy, Ace, and Raja; and a host of other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his Wife, Rosie Miles; Father, LeRoy Miles; Mother, Madeline Mary Miles; Son, Joseph RG Miles; Two Brothers, Donald Miles, Leo Miles; Sister, Mary Brendel; Great-Grandchild, Greyson Miles. 

Funeral Ceremony will be 10:30 am Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at St. Peters Chapel. Interment to follow Funeral Ceremony at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
