Joyce Hathman

Joyce Katherine Hathman (née Gourneau), a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully passed away on May 6, 2024, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 84. She was born on May 29, 1939, in Belcourt, North Dakota.

Joyce is survived by her devoted children, Michael Hathman and Kelly (Neil) Joseph, who meant the world to her. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Kriscinda Bekis, Shaina Durell, Hailey Joseph and Zachary Joseph, who brought her immense joy and pride. In addition to her immediate family, Joyce is survived by her siblings, Francis Gourneau, Bernice Lyngstad, Lee Gourneau, Cora Hunsley, and Theresa Langdeau. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Leander Gourneau, her mother, Mary Josephine (Zaste) Gourneau, and her son, Vincent Hathman. She was also preceded by her siblings Stella Gourneau, Irene Wright, Gladys Biskeborn, Sandra Bass, and Steven Gourneau.

Joyce was a resilient and formidable woman, known for her strength and unwavering spirit. Despite life's challenges, she faced them with determination and grace, inspiring all who knew her. Her toughness was matched only by her immense love for her family and her unwavering kindness towards others. While she may have been tough, she also had a heart of gold, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched.

Visitation will be on May 22, 2024 from 4pm until 8pm, at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376.
