Joyce B. Robson, age 85, of Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023 in Saint Peters, Missouri. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on October 14, 1937 to Adolph and Bertha Cullmann (nee Fares).
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Diane (Tom) Gramann and Karen (Don) Stallard; grandchildren, Jason (Laura) Gramann, Lindsey Gramann (Cody Winant), Kristen Gramann (Sam Myers), William Stallard, and Samuel Stallard; great-grandchildren, Nolan Gramann, Emersyn, Gramann, and Xander Ketcherside. Also is survived by many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Robson in 2022; parents, Adolph and Bertha Cullmann; and brother Alvin Cullmann. After graduating from Cleveland High School in 1955, Joyce worked briefly at an insurance company before marrying her husband Richard Robson on September 17, 1960 and later having two daughters.
Joyce enjoyed drawing, crafts, house plants, and Sunday excursions to go antiquing. She loved collecting dolls, doll houses, miniatures, and all kinds of collectibles. Joyce had a love for animals and over the years had many dogs, cats, fish, and several kinds of birds: parrots, cockatiels, parakeets, and canaries. Joyce once rescued some kittens by coaxing them with cat food into a box attached to a pole, a clever contraption she made to get them down from a roof. She also nursed a few injured birds back to health before releasing them into the wild.
In addition to being a homemaker and a mother, in 1981, Joyce helped her husband, Richard, open The White Barn, a drive-thru hamburger restaurant in Moline Acres. The burgers were so good, they would sell more than 300 pounds of meat in a day.
Joyce was a 60-year survivor of breast cancer, and beat colon cancer in 2010. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
Special thanks to St. Sophia Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Florissant, MO, St. Peters Manor Care in St. Peters, MO for her care and St. Croix Hospice at the end of her life.
