Judith "Judy" Stege

Judith (Judy) Stege, age 80, of Wentzville, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. She was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on April 6, 1943 to Bruce and Mae Sponsel (nee Morrow).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Stege; parents, Mae Sponsel and Bruce Sponsel; sister, Charlotte Sponsel; and brother-in-law, Chuck Stege.

Judith was an avid bingo player. Beloved wife of Gary for 38 years, they loved to dance, listen to local bands, attend church picinics, play quilt bingo, partake in Friday Fish Fry's, and try different restaurants. She loved animals, especially her dog, Macy, and cat, Ellie.

Judith is survived by her children, Tammy (Areland) Slayden and Jeffrey (Carolyn) Yates; step-children, Deanna (Matt) Lacefield and David (Amy) Stege; grandchildren, Jessica Schilling, Jaelee Yates, Summer Kohring, Payton Stege, Sean Slayden, Justin Yates, Jay Algiere, Ryan Lacefield, Drayden Lacefield, and Austin Stege; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Schilling, Xander Yates, Calvin Slayden, Nolan Slayden, Briley Kohring, Regan Kohring, and Grayson Kohring; brother-in-law, Brett Stege; sister-in-law, Linda Stege and a host of other family members and friends.

Judy's strong spirit will be dearly missed by many family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Monday, September 25, 2023 at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Funeral Ceremony will be 12:00 pm at St. Peters Chapel. Interment to follow funeral ceremony at Eternal Peace Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Five Acres Animal Shelter in honor of Judy or the Ataxia Foundation in honor of Charlotte Sponsel.
