Julia Ann Smith

Julia Ann Smith, age 98, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023. She was born in Kennett, Missouri on February 28, 1925 to David and Virgie Bishop (nee Tidwell).

Julia is survived by her children, Bob (Joy) Champ, Sue (Larry) Smith, and Larry (Brenda) Champ; granddaughters, Valerie (Don) Logaglio, Nanette (Ed) Callison, Julie (Bret) Morarend, and Debbie (Randy Turnbough) DiMarco; and grandsons, Rick Champ, Steve (the late Chrissy) Smith, Ray Champ, Ben Champ, and Jake Champ. Also survived by twenty one great-grandchildren, twelve great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ray (Deanna) Champ; father, David Bishop; mother, Virgie Bullington; two brothers; and one sister.

Julia worked for Artistic Fabrics, and retired after a 37 year career. She was also a longtime member of Florissant Valley Baptist Church. During her years as a resident at Spencer Place, she was proud to have been elected Ambassador, Queen, and President of the Residents Council - all in one year! Julia was also an avid Cardinals baseball fan, and loved going to see them play. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Julia's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
