Karen Bixby

Karen Lee Gamble Bixby went home to be with the Lord on February 14, 2022 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Dear wife of Larry, Karen leaves behind 4 children, Stefanie Brawner (David), Melissa Schultz (Rod), Jeremy Bixby (Liz), and Joshua Bixby. She also leaves behind 4 beloved grandchildren: Michael and Matthew Brawner, Adelaide and Eleanora Bixby; as well as a treasured sister Joyce Baker (Tom) and brother Vilas "Butch" Gamble (Patsy) of Cleveland, OH and many cherished nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother Phyllis; stepfather, John "Pop"; brother, Roy; and sister, Beverly.

Born in East Liverpool, Ohio on May 17, 1947, Karen left after graduation and moved to Kansas City where she married Larry on November 19, 1966. Shortly thereafter, they moved to and made their forever home in St. Louis. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, Cardinals baseball, autumn and Christmas, and anything caramel, but loved just spending time with her family most of all. Karen courageously fought a rare cancer and her contributions to cancer research will live on.

A private memorial will be held in the spring. If desired, contributions can be made in Karen's name to Samaritan's Purse.
