Katherine Anne Meiners, a beloved figure in the lives of many, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024, in Ballwin, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 28, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, Kathy brought joy and kindness wherever she went, leaving a lasting imprint on all who knew her.
Kathy’s professional career flourished as a Human Resources Administrator with McDonnell-Douglas and Boeing. She worked with Flight Test, as well as the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo Space Programs. She truly enjoyed being part of the McDonnell Team.
An alumna of Ferguson High School, Kathy graduated in 1959 and went on to obtain her associate's degree from Florissant Valley Community College. She was an avid reader, Jeopardy player, and loved the British Television Dramas. Her enjoyment of those were matched only by her warm personality, characterized as kind, thoughtful, and always radiating positivity. Those fortunate enough to know her cherished her beautiful smile and captivating spirit.
She was a long time member of Sts John and James Catholic Church in Ferguson and received her elementary education there. She was comforted in her last days by her faith and by receiving the sacraments, and the prayers by so many.
Kathy will be remembered for her deep commitment to family and friends. She was a wonderful sister and aunt, taking joy in her relationships with her family. Her siblings, Bill (Alicia) Meiners, John Meiners and Mary (Terry) Shaw, her nieces, Amy (Ryan) Graff and Jennifer Shaw, along with her great-nieces, Delaney Abbott and Ava Graff, and great-nephew, Evan Graff, held a special place in her heart.
In her personal life, Kathy found joy in simple pleasures, relishing dinners and theatre nights with friends. A lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and an avid supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs, she embraced her passion for sports and her city with enthusiasm. Her ability to remember everyone’s birthday and special events was a testament to her thoughtfulness, further highlighting the profound love she had for those around her.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, William and Audrey Meiners, her brother Bill Meiners, and her dear niece, Tracy McDonald. Her legacy of kindness, love, and friendship will continue to inspire those she left behind.
A visitation will be held in her honor on December 11, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri, followed by a funeral service. The day will conclude with a graveside service at Calvary Cemetery, where Kathy will be laid to rest.
As we celebrate the life of Katherine Anne Meiners, we hold close the memories of her unwavering love, her ready smile, and the way she made each of us feel special. The world is a brighter place because of her, and she will be deeply missed by all.
