Kathleen Colvin

Kathleen M. Colvin, age 87, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Wednesday April 6, 2016 at her home. She was born in Bloomfield, Missouri on July 23, 1928 to Frank and Dora Norris (nee Gill). Kathleen was a retired purchasing agent at Dexter Memorial Hospital, Dexter, Missouri, where she had started as a unit secretary. She had also been previously employed at hospitals in Sikeston, Missouri and West Covina, California. Kathleen was a member of 1st Baptist Church, Harvester, where she was affectionately known as the "Hat Lady", was a member of Homebound, and the Senior Group, Young at Heart. One of Kathleen's favorite memories was getting a kiss from President Jimmy Carter!

She married Clayton J. Colvin in St. Louis on June 21, 1946. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2000. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by infant sons, Ronald and Donald Colvin; a brother, Norman Norris and 3 sisters: Wilma Evans, Sylvia Thompson and Norma Norris.

Survivors include her daughters, Debbie (Mel)Caves of Porterville, CA, Kathie (the late David) Duffin of Keokuk, IA; a son, Mike Colvin of Florissant, MO; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Norris of Texas; a sister in law, Flo Mason; and a host of nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will begin at 7:00 pm Friday, April 8, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Mendenhall and Jacob Duffin officiating. Friends may call prior to the service from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, Saint Peters, Missouri 63376.
