Kathleen (Kathy) Margaret Wheeler Harvell passed away peacefully on February 20, 2020. She was born July 7, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri to Orville C. Wheeler and Catherine (Holderbach) Wheeler.
Kathy adopted a love for playing the piano at the young age of 6 which she continued to foster into her adulthood performing as "Kathy Kay" at the Sheraton in Texas. She continued to feed her passion by playing regularly including authoring the melody and lyrics of "Blessings" for her last born grandchild.
Our home was full of music and hugs and she became a surrogate "mother" to many. She always made each birthday and Christmas a special time regardless of our economic condition. She loved the idea of "love" and opened her arms and heart to people of all walks of life.
She was always quick to feed anyone who walked into our home and everyone loved her cooking so much, we encouraged her to open "Kathleen's Classic Catering" which she did and operated for several years until she was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014.
She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, spending hours coloring with them and passing on the multi-generational tradition of creating homemade confetti Easter eggs.
Kathy is survived by her husband John of 33 years; her children Tammy Birdsong and husband Kent of Vega, Texas, Tracy Remillard-Comstock and husband Marc of St Charles, MO and Jason Melaski and partner Michael Tinnin of St. Louis MO. In addition, she is survived by her brother Jack Wheeler of Reno, Nevada, four grandchildren, Michelle, Tiffany, Matthew and Michael and eight great grandchildren.
