Kathleen Shingle

October 21, 1935 — July 8, 2024

Kathleen Shingle, age 88, of Wildwood, Missouri passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2024 in Chesterfield, Missouri. She was born in Gary, Indiana on October 21, 1935 to Peter and Marie Higgins (nee Burns). 

Kathleen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always there for her family, and the room lit up when she entered. Her kindness, compassion and generosity endeared her to many friends as well as her family. Kathleen was a huge Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed watching many different sports. Her strong Catholic faith was the foundation of her entire life. 

Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Diane (Anthony) Truitt; her son, David Shingle; her grandchildren, Adam (Loren) Truitt, Aaron Truitt, Marjorie (Brian) Truitt Sedillo and Matthew Shingle; her great-grandchildren, Heron Truitt, Arbor Truitt, Sonnet Truitt, and Sutton Sedillo; her brother, James Higgins; her sisters, Elizabeth Hamer, and Magdalene Rose. She will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Peter Higgins; her mother, Marie Higgins; her husband, Eugene Shingle; her daughter, Eileen Shingle; her son, Edward Shingle; her brothers, Peter Higgins, Jack Higgins, Malachy Higgins, and Kevin Higgins; and her sisters, Maureen Kelner, and Theresa LeBlanc.

A Celebration of Life will be held by her family at a later date to honor her and share many joyful memories together.
