Kathryn Judith Boothe

August 3, 1944 — November 21, 2022

Kathryn Judith Boothe, age 78, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022 in Warrenton, Missouri.

Kathryn was born in St. Louis, Missouri on August 3, 1944 to Henry and Harriet Darragh (nee Dietz). She attended Kindergarten through third grade in Ferguson, Missouri school district and then Normandy High School for grades 4-12. Throughout her years, she worked at many places as a secretary finishing her career in Downtown St. Louis at the Federal Probation and Parole office.

She married Ronald Alvin Boothe on September 12, 1964 and they had two children together, Shelle and Kevin. While her children were young, she attended First Presbyterian Church in St. Louis, Missouri until the family moved to St. Peters, Missouri in 1971. In her later years, she was a member of First Methodist Church in St. Charles, Missouri but often attended St. Stephens Church in Troy, Missouri where her son and his family are members.

Kathryn had most recently resided in Twin Oaks at Stoneridge in Wentzville, Missouri until a fall caused her to move to the Warrenton Manor Nursing home

Kathryn adored her children and grandchildren. They were her life and she would do anything for them. After her husband's passing in 1980, they became the center of everything that she did.

Kathryn also loved the mountains. Where she spent her summers from 1946 through 1958 with her first cousins and aunts in a family cabin. The cabin was built by her grandparents and was located in the Big Horn Mountains just outside Sheridan, Wyoming. The Big Horns is where she longed to be. She would visit every chance she could. She loved horses and attending her grandkid's games of baseball, soccer and hockey and never hesitated to let the umpires and refs know what she thought of their calls. She also loved the wildflowers in the meadows of the Big Horns. The lupine, Indian paintbrush and columbine especially. She loved to paint and create, she had a beautiful singing voice she shared with several choirs and was a talented dancer involved in many groups in her high school years. Her love of all of these things has carried on in the lives and loves of her children and grandchildren.

Kathryn is survived by her son Kevin Martin (Stephanie) Boothe of Silex, Missouri, her daughter, Leslie Michelle "Shelle" (Doug) Huesemann, of St. Peters, Missouri, two granddaughters, Samantha Jo (William) Shults, Ellyse Darragh (Ricardo) Olaya, two grandsons, Scott Douglas (Sydney) Huesemann, and Landon James Boothe, one great-grandson, Will Shults, sister Francis Darragh and was to welcome a second great-grandson, Kasey Daniel Huesemann in March of next year.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Alvin Boothe, mother, Harriet Darragh, father, Henry Martyn Darragh and her beloved grandson, Kolten James Boothe.
