Kelly Katherine Lauff, born on October 2, 1980, in Belleville, Illinois, left this world unexpectedly in her sleep on March 8, 2025, in St. Charles, Missouri. She was a cherished daughter, a devoted mother, a beloved sister, and a dear friend to many.
Kelly’s life was defined by her generous spirit, loving heart, and unwavering thoughtfulness. As a bank teller supervisor for Academy Bank, she dedicated herself to serving others, embodying the same care and compassion that characterized her personal life. A proud member of the Carlyle High School graduating class of 1998, she further honed her skills and passions at St. Louis Community College, where she cultivated connections that would last a lifetime.
She is survived by her loving family, including her father, Bruce Yearian; her mother, Susan Yearian (nee Sweeney); her beloved son, Patrick, whom she affectionately referred to as her "shamrock"; her sister, Heather (Gary) Branson; and her cherished nephews and niece, Jacob (Haylee) Fritz (nephew and Godson), Freddy Branson, and C.J. Branson. Kelly's former husband and father of her child, John Lauff, also holds a special place in the memories they shared.
Kelly's love for travel created beautiful memories, particularly a fun family trip to Gulf Shores with "The Core Four"—her immediate family—and a treasured getaway to Hawaii with her husband, John. She embraced every moment, whether dining out with her mother and sister or discussing her favorite reality TV shows, a passion that added another layer to her vibrant personality.
Those who knew her can attest to her ability to make any occasion special with her thoughtful gifts and gestures. Her ability to foster joy and laughter among friends and family was exceptional. Kelly's legacy is not only seen in the way she made others feel but also through the proud accomplishments of her son, Patrick, who continues to carry her spirit with him.
A memorial gathering will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri, on March 25, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM, followed by a memorial service from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Additional time for remembrance will be provided afterward until 8:00 pm.
