Kenneth Edward Mckenzie, age 94, of Lake St. Louis passed away on October 31, 2019 of natural causes following a stroke.
He was born to the late Thomas Scott Mckenzie and Henrietta B. McKenzie in Chattahoochee, GA on August 2, 1925. Ken was married to Joyce M. McKenzie for 47 years until his passing. He was a dedicated stepfather to the late James Michael Dehn. He was preceded in death by his brothers James R. McKenzie and Carl S. McKenzie and his sister Eleanora McCooley.
Ken was survived by his wife until her recent passing. He was also survived by many friends, nieces, nephews and their children.
Ken retired after serving 22 years in the US Navy. He was a veteran during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam and earned many medals including Air Medal (Gold Star) and other commendations. Ken worked another 35 years as a machinist at McDonnell Aircraft/Boeing/GKN until retiring at age 75. Ken was known for his dedication to his family and his gentle spirit. He donated his body to the St. Louis University-School of Medicine.
A visitation will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home (St. Peters) on Friday, November 15, from 4 PM to 7:30 PM.
