Knut Kriauciunas, known as Emanuel Kriss, passed away on March 8, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on July 31, 1932, he lived a remarkable life, characterized by love, resilience, and dedication to his family and friends.
Throughout his life, Knut was a steadfast presence in the lives of those who knew him. He is survived by his loving sons, Henry E. (Laura) Kriss, Peter Kriss, and Thomas (Cindy) Kriss, as well as his devoted daughter, Angela Kriss. Knut was also cherished by his grandchildren, Nathan (Amanda) Kriss, April (Kellen) Chestnutt, Brandon (Trisha) Kriss, Olivia (Andrew) Campbell, Randy (Brittany) Bugnitz, Ryan Bugnitz, Brittany (Colin) Fahy, Brendan Bugnitz, Cameron Bugnitz, Calina Bugnitz, Luke Kriss, Todd Kriss, and Nicole Kriss; his great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Brayden, Cruze, Sierra, Bryson, Aria, Luella, Lillia, Louis, Leo and Perry; and his brother, Ronald Kriss, and a host of other family members and friends who will miss his warmth and kindness.
Knut's journey was marked by the significant impact he had on those around him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elsa Klaus (nee Lorenscheit), and father, Juozas Kriauciunas, both of whom provided a foundation of love and strength in his upbringing. He also mourned the loss of his first wife, Anneliese Kriss, and his wife, Debbie Kriauciunas, whose memories he treasured dearly. Additionally, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Joan Kriss, and his sister, Sonja (Ronald) Lind, further underscoring the deep bonds of family that shaped his life.
As we remember Knut, we celebrate the legacy of love, laughter, and connection he leaves behind. His spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
