Larry John Diehl was called home to his Heavenly Father on March 16, 2024, in St. Peters, MO.
He was born on July 30th,1943 in Santa Monica, California to Walter and Helen Diehl.
After living in California for about 12 years, the Diehl family with Larry, and his brother Thomas, moved to Bay City, Michigan to be closer to family. They later moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where Larry attended Hales Corners Lutheran Church and Milwaukee Lutheran High School.
Larry graduated with a Bachelor's degree in accounting from Spencerian Business College. His first job out of college was auditing with Case Tractor in Milwaukee.
In 1969, Larry followed his father down to St. Louis, Missouri in his 1968 Camaro and took a position with McDonnell Douglas.
In 1971, Larry was active in the Lutheran Young Adults and met Shirley Pabst. They married on August 5, 1972 at Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church St. Louis and were blessed with three children, Erik, Tim, and Stephanie.
Larry inherited his father's love of photography. The family house closets are filled with boxes (and boxes) of pictures, slides, and 8mm reels. He was the family photographer documenting the neighborhood, vacations, Cub Scout events, basketball games, holidays, birthdays and parties on his Pentax film and digital camera. He was also keenly interested in coin collecting and HO-scale model trains.
Larry was always a family man, kind, and Christian role model. He focused on serving in the church he was attending, whether it be an usher, elder, or counting the offering. He enjoyed reading and attending Bible Studies at Chapel of the Cross St. Peters.
He was survived by his wife Shirley Diehl, brother Tom (Helen) Diehl of Marietta, GA; children Erik Diehl, Tim Diehl and Stephanie (Austin) Seifert; and four grandchildren, Jared Diehl, Austin Diehl, Kyle Diehl and Nolan Seifert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Helen Diehl.
