Laverne Schlenke

Laverne Cecilia Schlenke, age 101, of Saint Peters Missouri, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024, in O'Fallon, Missouri. Born on January 22, 1923 in O'Fallon, she was the daughter of Frank and Cecilia Schwane (née Huber).

Laverne had a passion for playing cards, particularly enjoying the game of Euchre.

She is survived by her three daughters, Sandra (Tom) Hobday, and Cynthia (Allen) Hemmersmeyer, Suzanne (Danny) Shilharvey. Additionally, Laverne is remembered by her five grandchildren: Tommy (Tammy) Hobday, Shawn Hobday, Aaron (Deanna) Hemmersmeyer, Megan (Joey) Wilmes, and Charlie (Caitlin) Shilharvey; and her eleven great-grandchildren: Sydnie Hobday, Allie Hobday, Ashley Hobday, Kayla Hobday, Chase Hemmersmeyer, Colton Hemmersmeyer, Cecelia Wilmes, Brady Wilmes, Easton Hobday, Collyn Shilharvey, and Watson Shilharvey. She also leaves behind a great-great-grandchild, Bryson Fedak, and a host of other family and friends.

Laverne was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Schlenke; her parents, Frank and Cecilia Schwane; Her sons-in-law Danny Shilharvey, Allen Hemmersmeyer, and grandson Tommy Hobday.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, followed by a memorial mass at 11:00 AM. Both services will take place at All Saints Catholic Church, located at 7 McMenamy Rd, St. Peters, MO 63376.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Dominic High School, or Twin Oaks Residents Activity Fund.
