Lawrence Joseph Cook, affectionately known as "Larry," passed away on January 4, 2025, in Saint James, Missouri, at the age of 81. Born on November 28, 1943, in Saint Louis, Missouri, Larry led a life characterized by service, dedication, and a profound love for his family.
Larry's career as a police officer with St. Louis County spanned from 1965 to 2001, during which he exemplified the principles of duty and integrity. His unwavering commitment to protecting and serving his community earned him the respect and admiration of both his colleagues and the citizens he served. Prior to his lengthy career in law enforcement, Larry proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1961 to 1964, showcasing his dedication to the nation.
Beyond his professional life, Larry had a hobby in woodworking which allowed him to express his creativity and craftsmanship, resulting in beautiful projects that his family and friends cherished.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy; his children, Diana, Joe, and Tony; and his grandchildren, Sarah, Jesse, Chase, and Ty. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Claire, Larry is further survived by his sister, Carol, and brothers, Mike, Tom, and Pete.
His legacy of love, service, and creativity will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Larry's presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he leaves behind will continue to inspire and guide his family and friends.
