Larry Schimweg – 81, of Ellisville, MO was born May 29th, 1943 in Brentwood, MO and passed away peacefully on October 19, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Hilda Schimweg.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Mary Sue, children Kellie (Cody) Fontaine, Scot (Colleen) Schimweg, Carrie (Steve) McGrail, and grandchildren Allison and Logan Schimweg, and Kayla, Colin, and Riley McGrail. As the oldest of eight children, Larry will be missed dearly by his brothers, sisters, sister and brother in laws and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He enjoyed taking trips with his wife and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Larry was a Navy Veteran, and proudly served in the Vietnam War as a Communications Technician. He was awarded the National Defense Service, Vietnam Service, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medals.
Upon discharge he went to work for Schnucks Markets and retired after a forty year career.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 23, followed by a service on Thursday, October 24 at 10:30 am, followed by burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery – St. Louis, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fisher House Foundation or Wounded Warrior Project.
