Lawrence A. Vorholt, age 77, of Chesterfield, Missouri passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022. He was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on April 4, 1945 to Lawrence and Evelyn Vorholt (nee Wagenblast).
Larry volunteered to serve in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS Forrestal and the USS Kitty Hawk. He later graduated from Southeast Missouri University (SEMO) with a Bachelors Degree in Business. He went on to serve his community as a firefighter for the City of Ladue until his retirement in 2005. Larry was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed to fish, hunt and camp. After traveling the world with the Navy, he loved to travel with family and friends. He was a big fan of the Saint Louis Cardinals. Above all else, Larry always cherished the time he spent with his family which included his beloved dogs over the years.
Larry is survived by his wife, Lynn C. Kaminski-Vorholt; his children, Tamara R. Trulove, Michael L. (Sarah) Vorholt, Tamara L. (Todd) Henry, and Andrew T. (Sara) Dietrich; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn N. Henry, Alison M. Henry, Alex S. Dietrich, Hailey E. Dietrich, Katherine R. Trulove, and Hendrix T. Vorholt; his siblings, Jeanne M. Bradow, Judy C. (Russell) Goldkuhl, Joyce M. Dear (Michael Bakalor) , and Janet M. (Charles) Cooper; his brother-in-law, Gary Guilbor, and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence B. Vorholt; his mother, Evelyn R. Vorholt; his sisters, Joan M. Vorholt, and Mary J. Guilbor; and his brother-in-law, Ernest F. Bradow;
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, West County Chapel, 2211 Clarkson Rd, Chesterfield, Missouri 63017. A funeral service will take place at 10:00 am on Friday, May 13, 2022 at West County Chapel with burial to follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St Louis.
