Lawrence "Larry" S. Wurth Jr., age 91 1/2, of Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020. He was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on January 3, 1929 to Lawrence and Nellie Wurth, Sr. (nee Hamel).
Larry was married to Nellie Wurth for 66 1/2 years. He was a Chemical Operator at Mallinckrodt Chemical Company until his retirement. Larry spent the first ten years of his retirement traveling across the country with his wife. He loved to dance, fish, do crossword puzzles, and play solitaire. Larry was quite the joker. Most of all he found joy spending time with all of his family and friends.
Larry is survived by his wife, Nellie Wurth; his children, Debbe (Larry) Laramie, Sherry (Robert) Schumer, John (Kathleen) Wurth, and Robin (Mike) Messmer; his 16 grandchildren; his 35 great-grandchildren; his 1 great-great grandchild; his siblings, Shirley Condon, and Kay (Larry) Keating; and his sister-in-law, Diane Wurth. He will be missed by many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence S. Wurth, Sr.; his mother, Nellie Wurth; his son, Larry "Buck" Wurth; and his siblings, Florence Becker, and Mike Wurth.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2020 beginning at 12:00 pm until around 5:00 pm at Laurel Park Pavilion N in Saint Peters, MO (Use the McClay Valley Blvd entrance).
