Leona Anna Schneider, age 97, of Saint Peters, Missouri, fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Old Monroe, Missouri on March 28, 1919 to Herman and Rose (nee Freise) Gnade. On November 27, 1947, Leona married Eugene L. Schneider of St. Peters, MO at Immaculate Conception Church in Old Monroe MO. He preceded her in death October 16, 1975. Leona was a devout Catholic of All Saints Catholic Church, where she quilted for many years and was a member of the Ladies Sodality. She was a member of the Happy Neighbors Extension Club for many years also. Leona enjoyed sewing, needlework, traveling, gardening, canning, cooking and baking for her family. Her iced sugar cookies were a special treat for the grandkids.
Leona was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt and friend. She is survived by her children Eugenia A. (Late Daniel) Hillen of University City, MO, Timothy W. (Nyla) Schneider of O'Fallon, MO ,Cheryl R. (James) Elrod of Warrenton, MO, Marita J. Malensky of Saint Peters, MO, Jerome H. Schneider of St. Peters, MO; Yvonne M. (Michael) Marty of Bel-nor, MO and Julie A. (Michael) Congemi of Acworth, GA; grandchildren Rachel, Erin, Micah, Jaime, Jason, Jodie, Dorie, Joe & Sam; 3 great-grandchildren Hannah, James & Brice; brothers, Charles Gnade of Old Monroe, MO, William (Delores) Gnade of Old Monroe, MO and Bernard (Ruth) Gnade of Old Monroe, MO; sisters, Rosemary (Everett) Rottger of Troy, MO and Jane (Leonard) Pieper of Troy, MO, plus a host of other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene; 2 sisters and 5 brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Thursday, June 23, 2016 at All Saints Catholic Church, 7 McMenamy Road, St. Peters MO 63376 with Fr. Andrew Burkemper officiating. Interment will follow at St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at All Saints Catholic Church from 6:00-8:00 pm and Thursday from 10:00 am until service time.
