Leonard "Sam" Stallard, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully at his home in St. Peters, Missouri, on December 16, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 19, 1943, in Thayer, Missouri, Sam graced the world with his presence and warmth for over 81 remarkable years.
Sam was more than just a beloved figure; he was a vibrant soul who dedicated nearly four decades to automotive sales at Bommarito and Plaza Motors, bringing smiles and laughter to countless customers. Prior to that, he devoted almost 20 years of his life to Wagner Electric, and he began his work journey by serving the community at Coombs Grocery Store in Thayer as a teenager. His commitment to service was evident in every role he embraced, always characterized by his sociable and humorous nature.
A proud veteran, Sam served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, where he held the esteemed position of Body Escort while stationed in South Korea. This chapter of his life was a testament to his strength and devotion to his country, which he carried with dignity throughout his life.
Sam's passions extended far beyond his professional life. He had an insatiable love for golf and cars, relished shopping trips, and found joy in watching baseball. A true lover of music, he often delighted in the tunes of the Grand Ole Opry and country western melodies that filled his home with warmth. His playful spirit was particularly drawn to children; he embraced every moment with babies and youngsters, finding joy in their laughter and innocence. Additionally, his big heart extended to his beloved animals, nurturing them with affection and care.
He is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Buffy Stallard, who stood by his side through thick and thin. The legacy of love continues through his children: Cori (Ricky) Maze, Devin (Kayla) Stallard, Steven Boyer, and Megan (Juan) Montes De Oca. Sam treasured each of his grandchildren, including Lizzie, Jude, Phoebe, Valentina, Emilia, Carmela, and Luisa, cherishing the moments spent together and always ready with a smile or a story.
Sam is also survived by his dear brother, Raymond (Mary) Stallard, who shared many precious memories with him throughout their lives.
