Leota C. Giese (nee Hahn), age 91, of Wentzville, Missouri passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022 in O'Fallon, Missouri. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 26, 1930 to Charles and Opal Hahn (nee McKnight).
Leota was a Teacher at the Adult Education Program for St. Louis County for 17 years . She was married to Harry Giese for 66 years.
After her years as a new wife and mother, Leota went to work. She was very proud of her years as a teacher of adults working for the GED. She helped many people prepare themselves for better lives. After retiring, she took up the hobby of quilting and again she shared her talents by instructing others and has a large group of other quilt makers in her circle of friends. She finally surpassed her early goal of completing over 125 pieces of art.
Leota is survived by her Daughter, Karen L. (Frank) Guercia of Wentzville, MO; Son, Kenneth C. (Kitty) Giese of Huntersville, NC; Brother, Larry Hahn; Grandson, Gregory Giese; Friend of 80 years, Mary Dawson; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Opal Hahn; Father, Charles Hahn; Husband, Harry A. Giese; Three Brothers, Dick Hahn, Leea Hahn and Frank Hahn; and Sister, Thelma Vietor.
Visitation will be Friday, July 8th from 10:00am until 11:30am at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. The Funeral Ceremony will take place Friday, July 8th, 2022 at 11:30am also at St. Peters Chapel. Interment will directly follow at Warrenton City Cemetery.
