Linda Foster, age 72, of Saint Charles, Missouri passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 as a result of COVID-19. She was born in Mobile, Alabama on July 1, 1948 to Esther McClelland (nee Ray).
Linda was married to Dean Foster for 55 loving years. They met cruising the car hop circuit and he instantly fell in love with her big brown eyes. That very day, he followed her directly to church for their unofficial, first date. She followed him for the rest of her life settling in St. Louis, but never forgetting her southern roots and carried her accent throughout the rest of her days.
Linda had a passion for children and it didn't matter your age, she was going to mother you! She worked as a nurse at Gateway Pediatrics for over 20 years and enjoyed her career, every, single day. She was known for her practical jokes and always managed to keep a serious, straight face with each and every delivery. Everyone who knew her well - has a story to share. Linda fulfilled her purpose on this earth by being an example of strength, courage, faith, fun, and Christ shined through her.
Linda is survived by her husband, Dean Foster; her daughters, Deanna Foster and Paula Foster; her siblings, Gerry (Jim) Smith and Paulette Rush; her sister-in-law, Carolyn McClelland and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther McClelland; her brother, Bill McClelland; and her aunt, Margaret Shepherd. She always wanted her end-of-life celebrated through song - "When the Saints Go Marching In" played by Derrick Rush, who also preceded her in death, but certainly carried out her wishes immediately upon arrival to Heaven.
She will be missed by many family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will occur in Alabama with date pending at this time.
