Linda Kay Gloe, age 73, of Troy, MO, passed away suddenly on December 30, 2020. Kay was born on the family farm in Arkansas September 22, 1947, outside of Piggott, AR. She was the daughter of Varland and Reba (Chapman) Dowdy. On November 5, 1988, Kay married Emery V. Gloe.
Kay was no stranger to hard work. Being raised on the family farm where she would spend her summers working in the family's cotton fields. As a child, Kay's family moved to St. Louis were she attended grade school. Being surrounded by her family and her loving cousins made this time of her life so special. Later, her family moved back to Arkansas where Kay Graduated from Greenway High School and went on to attend Arkansas State University. Kay would eventually find her way back to St. Louis county, St. Peters and finally Troy to raise her family and to continue her strong work ethic in business. Along with her husband, Emery, they founded Gloe Boring, Inc. She also was a caring and dedicated homemaker raising her five children. Kay's true joy and love in life was her family and especially her grandchildren.
Kay leaves behind a living legacy consisting of her loving husband Emery; sons, Jason A. (Jenefer) Hedge of O'Fallon, Matthew V. (Erica) Hedge of Troy, Emery W. (Paul) Gloe of St. Louis and Paul M. (Cristin) Hedge of Troy; daughter, Amanda K. Hedge of Lake St. Louis; sisters, Willodean "Deanie" Bradshaw of Indianola, MS and Virginia "Ginny" Mannino of St. Peters; grandchildren, Taylor, Elizabeth, Christian and Alyssa; grandchildren, Chase and Isabella; grandchildren Carson, Caiden and Cruz. Kay also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 3, 2021, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, MO. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021, 10:00 am at Newcomers with Pastor Chris Keating, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions can be made in Kay's name to her favorite charity, the Children's Home, Inc, 5515 Walcott Rd., Paragould, AR 72450.
Out of respect and safety of our families and community, all guests are required to wear face coverings at all times while visiting our funeral home.
