Linda K Letford, beloved sister, wife, mom, grandmother, and former housekeeper, died just past her 70th birthday on Monday, September 16, 2019. A native-born St Louisan, she was proud of her Native American Indian Heritage, which is visible all over her home.
She was a loyal wife to Thomas Letford, baby sister to Harold (Margo) McKean, and proud mother to three fortunate boys and their spouses; Joseph (Mary) Stangl, William Stangl, and James McCormick (Teresa Bingham). She was also a grandmother to two amazing and gracious grandchildren; Samantha Stangl and Dakota McCormick along with a host of other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn Sterling and Bill Tarbell and a daughter-in-law Tracy Stangl.
You may not have known Linda, as she was a very private person, but she could be seen with a smile on her face and a pep in her step even on the worst of days. She loved to be funny, crack jokes and just make people laugh.
She was a frugal bargain hunter and die-hard thrift store shopper. She would never pay full price for anything or walk away from a bargain.
Her energy and spirit will live on in us, and we will forever be grateful for her presence in our lives. Linda made the world a better place for her having been here. She taught us too much to ever list out but the one saying that comes to mind every time we think of her is 'Laughter is the best medicine!
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Newcomer, St Peters Chapel, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive (636-875-1200), with a memorial service starting at 2:00 pm.
