Linda Lou Tinker (Moffett), age 76, of West Sacramento, California passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento, California. She was born in Cooke County, Texas on June 1, 1945, to Gordon and Mary Lou Moffett (nee Green).
Linda was a graduate of Missouri State Teachers College (Truman State University) where she achieved her master's degree. She taught in Memphis, Missouri for 2 years before she moved to St. Louis, Missouri and taught in the business department for over 29 years at Jennings High School. Her teaching skills helped many students to be successful in their future careers. Linda was an active member of her community as well. She served as President of the American Association of University Women in West County St. Louis where she was a leader of many committees. She was a positive force in raising awareness of issues involving women and fund raising for scholarships. Her leadership and generous skills made her a positive and well-liked member. She also served as President of the West County Democratic Organization. She has left a lasting impression on all that knew her. She is truly loved and will be missed.
Linda is survived by her son, Matthew Tinker (Parisa Khosraviani); her grandchildren, Kiana, Kamran and Chista Tinker of Folsom, California; her sister, Bobbi Roberts of Conway, Arkansas; her nieces, Elizabeth "Buffy" Goforth of Conway, Arkansas, Patricia Moffett of Atlanta, Georgia and Terry Moffett of Berwyn, Illinois; and nephew, Dr. Russell Roberts of Rome, Georgia. She will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Tinker; her father, Gordon Moffett; her mother, Mary Lou Moffett; her brother, Robert Moffett; and her brother-in-law, Jack Roberts.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, November 5th at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, West County Chapel, 2211 Clarkson Rd, Chesterfield, Missouri 63017. Burial will take place at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 6th at Memphis Cemetery in Memphis, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Linda's name to West County Democrats or the American Association of University Women. Both organizations meant a great deal to her.
