Lloyd Anthony Elsenrath, a longtime resident of his community, passed away peacefully at his home on November 5, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on September 16, 1934, in Rhineland, Missouri, Lloyd's journey through life was marked by a steadfast dedication to his family, his country, and his work.
Lloyd had a lifelong career as a sheet metal worker, contributing to various jobs that supported military and defense applications. His craftsmanship was not only a means of livelihood but also a testament to his patriotism. He proudly served his country with honor in the United States Army, a service that shaped his strong convictions and exemplary character.
Known for his engaging personality, Lloyd relished the simple pleasures in life, often savoring an ice-cold beer while reflecting on his many adventures. An avid deer hunter and outdoor sportsman, he embraced nature and shared countless memorable moments with his loved ones in the great outdoors. Among these cherished memories, a family trip to Montreal, Canada, to attend the 1976 Olympics stands out as a highlight, one that brought laughter and joy to those who traveled with him.
Lloyd's proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly his family. He cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, Robert, Andrew, Michael, Nathaniel, Mary Day, and Clara Beth Elsenrath, and took immense delight in their achievements and growth. His legacy will continue through them, as they carry forward the values he instilled in them.
Lloyd is survived by his loving sons, David A. (Beth) Elsenrath and Greg M. (Lora) Elsenrath; his adoring grandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Ann Faber. He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Marion Elsenrath; his father, Leo Elsenrath; his mother, Bertha Elsenrath; his brother, Donald Elsenrath; and his sister, Imogene (Maurice) Watermann.
