Lynda Barfield Lewis, age 80, of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024. She was born in Butler, Georgia on February 14, 1944 to Archie and Erma Barfield (nee Taunton).
Lynda is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Franklin F. Lewis; loving daughter, Jennifer (Christopher) Bingham; treasured grandchildren, Cailey Page Bingham and Jacob Logan Bingham; and a host of other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Archie Barfield; and mother, Erma Barfield.
Lynda was a graduate of Taylor County High School, class of 1961, and she obtained both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Education from Mercer University, located in Macon, Georgia. During her time at Mercer, she was active in her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, and she remained a supporter of her sorority throughout her life.
Lynda was a career educator, working primarily in the Gwinnett County School District of Georgia.
Lynda was an avid animal lover and a supporter of many animal charities. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she enjoyed traveling with her husband and beloved Chihuahua, Pedro.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 4-6:30pm, at Heritage of Hawk Ridge Clubhouse, 225 Pigeon Drive, Lake Saint Louis, Missouri 63367.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lynda's honor to the Gwinnett County Humane Society, or the Humane Society of Missouri.
