Marc R. Gibson, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on November 27, 2024 at the age of 85. Born on October 23, 1939, Marc lived a life enriched by love, laughter, and a deep commitment to his family and community.
Marc is survived by his loving wife, Carol Gibson. He leaves behind his son, Greg (Mary) Gibson, and daughter, Suzanne (Robert) Brasher, both of whom carry forward the values and lessons he instilled in them. The warmth of his legacy will live on through his five cherished grandchildren: Brooks Brasher, Cole Gibson, Brody Brasher, Gabrielle Gibson, and Ally Gibson. Each of them held a special place in Marc’s heart, and their laughter and joy brought him immense happiness.
A dedicated educator, Marc spent his career as a teacher, principal, and coach, inspiring countless students with his wisdom and guidance. He had an innate ability to motivate young minds and instill a love for learning. His passion for sports was evident in his role as a basketball, golf, tennis, softball, and baseball coach, where he easily fostered both skill and sportsmanship in his players. His love for playing golf, and tennis was matched only by his infectious enthusiasm and joy for the game, which he happily shared with family and friends.
Marc's interests extended beyond sports; he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He adored spending time outdoors, working in his yard, which served as a reflection of his nurturing character. Fishing brought him peace—a time to connect with nature and create memories that he cherished deeply. He also relished moments spent with his dogs, who were a source of unconditional love and companionship. He delighted in having a cup of coffee with friends, sharing stories and laughter that enriched his days.
He is preceded in death by his father, William Gibson, his mother, Helen Demarcus, and his brother, Charles Michael Gibson. Their memories remain alive in the hearts of those who loved him, serving as a reminder of the enduring bonds of family.
Marc will be remembered for his kind spirit and the love he shared with all those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy is one of unwavering devotion, heartfelt connections, and a life well-lived.
