Margaret Elizabeth Grannemann Tucker, age 85, passed away peacefully September 1, 2020. She was born September 06, 1934 in Laurel Hill, North Carolina to the late Bertha May Goins Tucker Clark and the late Ollsie Tucker.
Margaret is survived by her children, daughter Joan (the late Mark) Backowski, daughter Pamela Doherty and son Todd and his wife, Mary Grannemann; grandchildren Dawn Backowski Zellner, Dana Backowski Reese, Brittany Backoski, Mackenzie Doherty Keng, Austin Doherty, Megan Grannemann, and Joseph Grannemann plus 5 great grandchildren; sister Connie and her husband John Grundin, sister Sarah Sinclair (the late John) and her many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was raised in the church of God and was a long-time member of the Springfield Church of God in Laurel Hill, North Carolina. She grew up singing in the choir and loved her Church. She contributed to the churches in this area while living a majority of her life in St. Louis, Mo. There is a plaque for special recognition for her generous support to their ministry through so many years.
Margaret was employed many years and retired from McDonnell Douglas and was a proud member of her Union. Margaret loved being outdoors, she loved maintaining her yard and growing flowers with an occasional garden. She had a great appreciation for nature and God's creations and found much contentment in bird watching. She also found joy in building and woodworking. Christmas was her favorite holiday, as she aged she kept her Christmas tree up year round. She loved adorning her home with a plethora of Christmas decorations. Margaret loved playing 500 card rummy. She taught all her grandchildren to play. They would play rummy, stay up late playing cards or watch movies, particularly the Disney animated movies when they spent time together. She loved family, her children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her favorite television shows included re-runs of Murder She Wrote and Perry Mason. Margaret loved wearing jewelry and things that sparkled. The more glitter, the better!!!
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Newcomer, St Peters Chapel, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. A funeral ceremony will take place at 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2020. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Charles, Missouri.
