A proud graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, earned her bachelor's degree in 1968, laying the foundation for a fulfilling journey where she continually thrived intellectually and personally. Throughout her life, she was known for her loving and caring nature, traits that endeared her to everyone she met. Her spirit shone brightest in her roles as a devoted wife to her husband, Mel, and a nurturing mother to her children, Colin and Tina.
Marian embraced the joys of family life with enthusiasm, finding happiness in every moment spent with her loved ones. She treasured the time shared with her grandchild, Ciara Skredenske, often recounting stories filled with warmth and wisdom, her laughter ringing through family gatherings. She was a sister to Steve and Charles Gronau, creating memories imbued with familial love that will be cherished forever.

Traveling brought her joy, allowing her to explore new places while creating lasting memories with family. Her passion for life and learning extended beyond the written word and into her interactions, where her compassion always left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know her.
