Marian graduated from Nerinx Hall in 1954. Shortly after graduation, she traveled to Boston and entered as a novitiate to The Missionary Sisters of St. Columban. She moved to Chicago to continue her education, earning her Master's Degree in Education at Mundelein College. Marian then moved to East Los Angeles to teach at Our Lady of Guadeloupe. It filled her heart with joy teaching the young Hispanic girls. While in East L.A., Marian earned her Music Degree and delighted in leading the choir and teaching 5th grade music. There they enjoyed retirement for over 20 years, creating many new friendships in the Hidden Valley Ranch community. Their return to the St. Louis area in January 2018 was due to Marian's declining health. Marian and George moved into The Assisted Living at the Meadowlands in O'Fallon, Missouri where they developed new friendships. They were loved and adored by all, as they watched how faithfully George cared for Marian in her last years. George and Marian celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on September 4, 2020.

Marian enjoyed counted cross-stitch handwork and knitting. She gave gifts of, and adorned their home with her beautiful handiwork. Marian loved to cook and bake. She loved sharing her many tasty dishes with family and friends. Marian always had and loved her dogs; Ginger, Heidi, Suzie, Casey and Toby. They were loved and brought her great joy!
