Mark D. Sovich, beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025, in O'Fallon, Missouri, at the age of 70. Born on August 1, 1954, in Glendale, West Virginia, Mark spent his life surrounded by the warmth of family and friends who knew him for his loving heart, generosity, and kindness.
Mark dedicated over 20 years as a Managing Partner at Firestone, where his hard work and commitment inspired many. A proud graduate of the class of 1973 from John Marshall High School, he carried with him a strong sense of community. His volunteer efforts with the McMechen Fire Department exemplified his unwavering spirit of service to others.
Outside of his career, Mark was a passionate sports enthusiast. He was an avid baseball fan, particularly devoted to the Pittsburgh Pirates, and a loyal supporter of the Steelers football team. His love for these teams was only surpassed by the love he had for his family.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Janice Sovich (nee Miner), who stood by his side through thick and thin. He leaves behind two sons, Jeff (Chrissy) Morgan and Robbie Sovich, and a daughter, Cassie Brayden. His five grandchildren—Trae Brayden, Makayla Brayden, Briana Shepherd, Dylan Shepherd, and Shaela Morgan—brought him immense joy, while the two great-grandchildren, Maya Canon and Ivy Canon, held a special place in his heart.
He is also survived by his brother, Ross Sovich, and a host of other family members and friends who will inevitably feel the void his passing has left. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Sovich, his mother, Betty Ann Sovich, and his beloved daughter, Dina Morgan.
Mark’s legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. His sense of humor, big-hearted nature, and dedication to his family will be dearly missed, yet fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of sharing life with him.
