Martha Jean "Marty" (McGraw) Hunnell, age 96, of O'Fallon, Missouri, formerly of Washington PA and Monroeville PA, died Sunday January 24, 2016 at Delmar Gardens of O'Fallon, Missouri. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank T. Hunnell. Marty was born January 28, 1919 in Washington PA, a daughter of the late Joseph and Emma McGraw.
Marty enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, caring for the family pets and writing poems for family gatherings. She was the May Queen of Washington High School in 1937 and for many years a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Washington, Pa. Marty and Frank enjoyed ballroom dancing and their bridge club. Marty was a sports fan who enjoyed following the Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals. Most especially, she was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Mrs. Hunnell is survived by a daughter, Marcia L. (Michael) Bronowicz of O'Fallon MO; a son, David T. (Joan) Hunnell of Murrysville PA; six grandchildren: Jennifer Blanke of Ballwin MO; Laura Fletcher of O'Fallon MO; Matthew Bronowicz of St. Peters MO; Alan Bronowicz of Hoboken NY; Julia Hunnell of Murrysville PA and Jessica Hunnell of Murrysville PA; five greatgrandchildren: Kayla and Kelsey Fletcher; Evan and Annelise Blanke, and Esther Bronowicz. Also many nieces and nephews.
Marty was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son Joseph M. Hunnell, a brother Joseph McGraw, and three sisters, Eleanor Supler, Elizabeth McGraw and Jean Fleming.
Services for Martha Jean Hunnell wil be Wednesday, January 27, 2016 with public visitation at 5:00 and Celebration of Life at 6:00 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, MO 63376, (636) 875-1200.
Committal Services will be Saturday January 30, 2016 at 11:00am in the chapel of Queen of Heaven Cemetery,2900 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317. (Funeral services handled by Belusko Cremation and Funeral Care). Immediately following the committal service, a Celebration of Life Luncheon will be at Atria's Restaurant, 4059 Washington Road , Peter's Township, PA 15317.
