Marvin Hurst

Marvin Joseph Hurst, age 80, of Saint Charles, Missouri passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 in Saint Peters, Missouri. He was born in Perryville, Missouri on November 22, 1942 to Floyd and Edna Hurst (nee Smith).
Marvin spent most of his time with his grandson, James, with kart racing. He belonged to the St. Peters JC, they taught them BB gun safety and would host competitions for it. Marvin was an avid hunter especially deer, turkey, and squirrel. He did not like fishing but his grandson, James, loved fishing so they would rent a boat and Marvin would troll them around on the lake to fish. Marvin even took James to Idaho to fish. In his earlier years Marvin joined the Navy in August 1960. Marvin was a loving father and a fantastic grandfather.
Marvin is survived by his Wife, Paulette Hurst; Daughter, Laura (Mark) Kinnunen; Five grandchildren, Matthew Kinnunen, Edward Mitchell Kinnunen, Andrew Kinnunen, James Hurst, Nathan Hurst; Son, Michael Hurst; Three Sisters, Jacqueline (William) Kriete, Priscilla (Hurst) Dehler, Martha (Skip) Deady; Brother, Ronald (Dottie) Hurst; Brother-In-Law, Joseph (Jean) Weber; Sister-In-Law, Beatrice (Donald) Koller; and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Floyd and Edna Hurst; Son, James Edward Hurst; and Sister-In-Law, Mary Francis Weber.
Mass will be 10:00 am Friday, February 3, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1355 Motherhead Rd, Cottleville, MO 63304. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment to follow at St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
